Also known as the Whitecheek Tang or the Gold-rimmed Surgeonfish. This fish has a similar body shape and behavior as the popular Powder Blue and Powder Brown Tangs. Its body is dark purple to brown. It has a white spot between the eye and pectoral fin. Most have a dash of white on the sides of the mouth as well. It has yellow lines that run down the length of the body at the base of the dorsal and anal fins. There is also a vertical yellow line on its tail. Provide plenty of hiding places large enough to accommodate. As most tangs mainly feed on algae, this fish requires live rock for grazing. Diet should include plenty of algae based flake or pellets, nori, and fresh greens. Will also accept most small meat items such as mysis and pieces of krill.
