Black Cap Basslet 1-2 in. (Gramma melacara)
Also called the Black Cap Gramma. It has a purple body with a black diagonal splotch on its head. Found at the edges of reefs, the Blackcap basslet spends most of its time hovering around the rock structure. Provide ample places to hid, as it can be a shy species. Quick to retreat into the safety of live rock.

The Black Cap Basslet is a solitary species and are best kept one to a tank. May act aggressive towards other basslets.

Diet should consist of frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other meaty items. May take high quality flake food or pellets.
