The Valentini Puffer is found in among coral colonies and rocks of subtidal lagoons and seaward reefs. Can be an aggressive fish. Does best in a fish only tank with other aggressive fish.

In the wild this fish feeds mostly on filamentous green and red algae small invertebrates and some coral. Provide plenty of live rock to graze on and hide. Should be offered both meaty and vegetable items.

Diet should include squid, krill, clams, and various shrimp. Should also be offered algae based foods.
