Also known as the Blue-faced Angelfish, Yellow-faced Angelfish, Blue masked Angelfish, the Blueface Angel fish undergoes a complete color and pattern transformation from the Juvenile to adult stage. While the Juvenile Blueface Angelfish is characterized by alternating black, white and saphire blue vertical lines, the adult Blueface Angel is a pale yellow color with blue scales and a dramatic mask of bright blue lines coloring the face. The adult Blueface Angel is usually very well suited to saltwater aquarium living as it usually takes to feeding on prepared aquarium food quickly.

The Blueface Angel should be housed in an aquarium with a minimum of 100 gallons as this fish can commonly grow to 8 inches or larger in the home salwater aquarium.

The Blueface angel needs Live Rock for grazing and foraging throughout the day. The Blueface Angel will feed on a varied diet of items growing in your salwater aquarium including sponges and algae. Most Saltwater Angelfish are known to nip at sessile invertebrates including Live Coral and Tridacnid Clams.

Considered semi-aggressive, the Blueface Angelfish may become territorial toward other large saltwater angelfish.

The diet of the Blueface Angelfish should consist of algae, fresh or frozen seafood, and saltwater angelfish food preparations containing various sponges.
