Sometimes called the Hawaiian Bristletooth Tang. The juvenile Chevron Tang has an orange body with violet blue irregular lines on the body. It has blue dorsal and caudal fins. As an adult, most of the orange turns to a shade of brown. The Chevron is an active fish that requires plenty of swimming room. A tank of at least four feet in length is recommended. Provide hiding places large enough to accommodate. As most tangs mainly feed on algae, this fish requires lots of live rock for grazing. Generally a peaceful and docile fish, so it may be picked on by other tangs with similar body shape and feeding habits. Best kept one per tank as it will fight with its own species. Diet should include plenty of algae based flake or pellets, nori, and fresh greens. Will also accept most small meat items such as mysis and pieces of krill.
